Looking at an '89 Ninja 600 (ZX600?)
I've had lots of bikes, but never a Kawasaki. I'm looking at an '89 Ninja 600 locally.
Questions:
- What are the basic specs?
- Displacement
- HP
- Weight
- Tire sizes
- Fuel & oil capacity
- Carb make (Keihin, Mikuni or ???)
- Carb size/bore
- What are the highlights of this bike? (Good & Bad)
- Any common problems or weaknesses I should look for?
- How is parts availability?
- Are there some "standard" low-cost performance or handling mods?
- It has about 30k miles and is stock. What's the approximate value?
Thanks in advance for any responses!

Except for my Bandit 12, my bikes are '80's vintage. I'm not trying to impress anyone (clearly) or competing in street/track racing, so I don't need a state-of-the-art bike. For me tinkering and tuning are fun. So if this one runs well it'll be fine as a commuter bike. No worries about keeping it perfect. And it'll save me a few thousand dollars.
why would you want to buy a bike that old? i had a 88 750r ninja,. but it had 5400 miles, i wouldnt buy one that old
