Possibly Buying a Kawasaki Ninja 500EX Need Help
I am Looking at a 1991 500 EX, it has about 22,000 miles on it.
My first question is is that amount of mileage way to high, should i continue looking for something else?
Second what is this bike worth, the owner wants 1750 for it, i think that it is a little high because it has been dropped and needs new tires
here is the website address http://grandrapids.craigslist.org/mcy/609392119.html
please help me out i am in need of a new bike for the season (i previously rode a 1986 honda rebel "limited edition")
thanks for any help in advance

RE: Possibly Buying a Kawasaki Ninja 500EX Need Help
I wouldn't touch it, personally.
Aftermarket pipes = the guy probably also put on a jet kit.
Jet kit = bike has been running too rich and the cylinder compression won't last as long because the rich condition has fouled the oil film from the cylinder walls.
~OR~ Jet kit = the guy can't get the bike to run right because most guys who install jet kits don't know what they're doing
The fact that this guy has changed so much about the bike, and knows so much about it's maximum performance capabilities, suggests to me that he is a squid who abused this bike.
To me, a bike that is still mostly stock is infinitely preferable to one that has been personalized like this. Would you feel comfortable going down on a girl who had some other guy's name tattooed on her lower back?
Good luck and let us know how it goes, whatever you decide.
Peace!
