replacd clutch cable now clutch slips (previously worked)
I have a 1994 kawasaki Ninja (no after market parts). The clutch worked with no problem until the clutch cable broke. I have replaced the cable with an OEM part. At first the clutch was only slipping in third gear then I tighted the clutch cable by the handle and now the cluth is slipping in first gear as well at a lower RPM.
I believe there is nothing wrong with my clutch or springs because my bike rode perfectly before the clutch cable broke. Is there a trick or something that needs to be done to prevent the slipping? All oil has been changed as recommened every time.

Welcome, jc. I'm guessing it is still an issue of adjustment (perhaps on the engine case end?) If you use a threaded swedge on one end of the cable, sometimes those can slip. Might even be a slight bit of stretch in the cable, as well. Agree; I don't think it's your clutch pack.
Keep us posted. Glad to have you aboard!

You need free play in the cable. An old trick is to use a nickle between the lever and perch near the edge the cable enters to measure enough play. Without free play you are essentially "pulling" the lever all the time, allowing slip. If you rode it with tension on the cable you may have destroyed the clutch plates.
Confirm you have play in the cable first.

If the clutch is slipping then tightening it is axactley the wrong thing to do,
Use the adjuster on the cable end as it enters the lever to set 2mm of slack (bare cable visible when tension is put on the lever) on the cable.
