Question wth is this noise?

ive got a 76 ke175 an ive been riding 2 strokes since i was 5 and i have never heard a pinging consistantly coming from the bottom end i just rebuilt the topend so that rules out piston rings wrist pin and small end bearing. does anyone know what can caue this?

Not sure if you did a leak down test, but my first thought would be a gasket leak (base, head, exhaust) since the noise has happened after your top end rebuild.

Welcome to the forums, I had a two stroke do that a million years ago, and it turned out to be the exhaust was loose.

Thanks for the reply sorry i was on vacation an had no computer but just yesterday i did a leak down test and came out 100% so that rules out leaks, when i did the test the plug was gray and seemed like the bike was running super lean so im getting that sorted out now but i dont think itll make the noise go away, and i did check my exhaust and replaced the copper gasket so it's snug. the funny thing is while i had the exhaust off i could see the piston moving in the cylinder and it seemed like the piston rings where expanding at the exhaust port which i thought might be causing the noise? could the rings be too big or on wrong i put the wide ring up top and the expander ring and narrow ring on the bottom groove?
