Man what the hell is a "gas intake compression valve" ? Just say where it's coming from or take a pic. The carbs? head gasket? The gas gets mixed with the air through the carb intake right?!?! Compression is made within the top of the piston and the bottom of the head, a valve is what opens to let gas+air into the combustion chamber. If 4 gals in 2 days is going through that valve then the chamber would be filed with gas, and when you fire it it would either A: bust a connecting rod because a cylinder filler with liquid gas won't compress, or 2: be pissing so much crap out of that cylinder that you would have way more problems than a "small gas leak". More info!!!

Heys again.

Thanks guys, and thanks for the vote for bike of the month!
I'm told I should take it to a local show and that I'd definitely take 1st place.

I still feel lucky to have gotten the deal I did.

Anyway, problem solved. With some good advice I used some JB weld and haven't had a drop leak since.

It was right off the petcock. The diagram only showed the right angle on the right side and mine was on the left. Seemed the previous owner always had the problem too which explains the low mileage. I'm sure there was just a missing gasket, but we just welded it in solid and it's all good.

Sorry if I didn't explain the problem clear enough previously. I didn't know as much about it then. But I do thank all of you for your welcome, replies and attempt to help.

Congrats on the fix, however gasket material is cheaper to repair a petcock than buying a new one....

As mentioned, that ride looks sweet. Congrats.
