Thanks for all your help..I spent the day unwinding and tracing the wiring route and couldn't seem to find the culprit. However the brake and parking lights did go off and have not come back on. I couldn't find out what fixed the issue so after hrs of searching the lights stayed off for good and worked properly. I still believe I have a ground or shorting problem as the battery drains down way too fast. 5 days of not riding and its dead. I also have a fuse that consistently blows. It is for my tailight and instrument cluster. The fuse used to blow every 6 months but now it happens every ride. I think I need a zx9 electrical diagram to help me pinpoint the problem. Does anybody have one they could post... or will a zx9 manual have a diagram??

BTW White hendrix how do you get that keyswitch appart. Seemed impossible for me!!lol

hmm, a weak battery and a fuse problem. I would prolly swap out the battery since it may be shorting out and is of course weak. Blowing a fuse every 6 months or even a yr is BS.

All factory manuals have a wiring diagram. Look in the General Discussion area under manuals. Cannot remember if there was a zx9 manual in that or not now. If not, I can scan from my hard copies here. A pain in the **** though. Let me know.
