NIW (Noob in waiting) - Brain Buckets
Hi all,
I pick up my (slightly) used KLX 250 this weekend in Chokoloskee, FL, bought it from a local fishing guide, less than 500 miles on the odo and still under warranty. Have ridden mostly dirt and enduro for 30+ years but haven't had a bike since my '79 Honda XL250S was stolen in the mid eighties. Rode the KLX a couple of weeks ago and was fascinated to learn how little (switches, control surfaces, gear pattern, etc) - and how much (liquid cooling, two wheel disc brakes) has changed over the years.
I'm looking to buy a new full face brain bucket and would appreciate any input from the group. Still have my old Simpson with good shell, liner and rubber but figure to use it as a backup. Back in the day Bell and Simpson were about the best around but have done some shopping on the internet and the choices are staggering. I'm looking for, in order, the safest, most visible and most comfortable helmet out there. Keep in mind that I'll be riding in Central Florida so summer ventilation is a big factor. Any suggestions?
