RE: newbie
Motorcycle Safety Foundation , they offer a course to help you learn some basic operating techniques , very well worth the money ,I paid $180.00 here in Eastern Tennessee .It may be cheaper in other places . Do a MSF google to find your nearest locale

The MSF course is a great suggestion for new and experienced riders alike. For a new rider, it will give you quite a bit of confidence in your abilities to control the bike, as well as start you off the right and safe way. I've been riding pretty much my whole life. I went through the course recently and was amazed at how many bad habbits I had and didn't know about. So I highly recommend it. It will give you the tools to be a safe rider, all you have to do is use them. And please do use them! And welcome to the KF family... there's a lot of great people here that will help you with anything you need.
