Welcome to the forums!
Hate to say it, but the 250R isn't very negotiable since it's a fast selling bike. I wouldn't pay more than $3400-3500 out the door with some gear to go along with it. You should be very happy with your purchase, and even happier with the gas money you will save!

i basically walked in the door and said what i was looking for,
a 250cc starter.
walked me over to a candy plazma blue 250r.
then said 3600 out the door.
(being a total noob) was not at all sure how to haggle on something i have never touched before.
I think before i sign anything, i wll say at 3600, toss in a helmet and gloves and you have a deal,
but any other ideas are more than welcomed.
and for the mileage, i drive a 04 lancer ralliart,
so i do ok in the hp and mileage area,
but the 70 miles to the gallon sure had me grinning.

As long as you haven't already put down a deposit, you have a little bit of leverage. Since they buy the bikes for what I'm guessing around $2600~$2700, and the set up of the bike doesn't really cost them more then the technician's time, you should be able to walk out of there for under $3500 with some gear. Just don't act really excited to buy. If they can tell you really want it, they will try and hose you for all you got.

Welcome to KF ..............according to my local dealer a 07 Kawasaki Ninja 250R lists for $2999.00 , if the price includes tax and any other applicable $$$$$ I'd say it's a good buy .They probably want ' haggle' a lot over the price seeing as how bikles are selling like hotcakes .If you can get them to throw in some gear that would only be icing on the cake .Sounds like a good buy .
