Daddytrox,
make sure that you are letting the shifter fully return to the center position I.E. not holding it up with your toe. Some bikes are very sensitive about that. It may be the boots or shoes that you are wearing.
The shifting mechanism is designed to fully unload between shifts. Comprendo amigo?

Congrats on the new bike! Sorry about your prob though.. I hope mine runs fine but I haven't been out of second gear yet to find out..soon very soon! Well Good Luck with all that and Welcome!
