new rider but want advice on a bike
Im new to the biking world I recently pasted my motorcycle class but while I was taking the class my brother's all have bikes 2004 Gsxr 1000, 2006 R1, 1999 CBR 900 & 2003 RC51. I rode all off em in a country area surrounding and I feel mature enough to handle all of then weight and all when I rode them. My question that I would like answered is that this will be my one and only bike for at least 3yrs so how do you all feel about me getting a 2003 zx9r I'm 5'11 180lbs. Also it would be jus for street use no tracking so basically straight lining 80% of the time and city driving. SN all my brother's started on 1000s and when I rode each bike I wasn't scared and handled the weight and didn't get the urge to crank each ones throttle to 10k rpms because I felt the power and didn't wanna pop the wheel n kill my self LOL. But long story short my mindset on the zx9 and I want input outside my circle for advice on a new rider on the zx9......all opinions are needed.

ok, I am drooling over the ride choices. I am jealous
From my garage: I would stay with the EX500, ZX7 or VFR 750 for street use. The 6RR and the 10R for fun time track days. The KZ1000 is for long range street use. The EX500 winning the street game most of the time. (The zx7 is a tank but a potent one, the VFR is high and upright sitting position with good power, the EX is soft and mushy with just enough power)
Scared is not the issue, gearing up and still being comfy is.
Welcome to KF
edit: The EX250 is almost the best track ride out there. WFO

Welcome to the forums. Sorry I'm too busy to answer, I just realized that like 30 new members slipped in while I was slacking. Sheesh this is turning into a lot of work LOL

Welcome kawi. +1^ on the ZX9. BULLETPROOF commuter that can be fun, too. A little porky by today's standards, but the 9's just keep going and going (with proper maintenance.) Next choice would be the ZX7; one of my ALL TIME favorite rides. I have some opinions on the other bikes you listed. I've ridden them. For rock solid commuting and weekend twisting, the 7 and 9 are your choice.

I'll throw my opinion out there. I've had 40+ bikes over the past 13 or so years I've been riding and the majority have been sportbikes. To this day, one of my favorite daily commuters was my '03 Kawasaki Z1000. Same bulletproof engine as the old ZX9, but has a bigger bore for the extra cc's, fuel injection, and a better riding position, all good things. I really, really miss it, which is rare for me... and just to ***** it a bit:
