New old guy
Too old to be a newbe, but I am just getting started, again. I appreciate the wealth of information about my new to me 2007 KLX250. I bought this low mile, completely stock bike the day I started the MSF class. I have been back to the course track to practice and will continue to do so. from time to time The course taught there is a lot more to riding than I thought, and there is still more to learn.
So far every question I have had I have found answers just by searching. I appreciate the good nature the members of this forum demonstrates in pretty much every thread I have read
A little about me: My log in name was one I earned with my Hobie Cat 16. It seems I like to fly the hull high, a little too high a little too often. Hopefully my propensity to tip over will not carry over into riding. I am a hot air balloon pilot, love to snow ski sail and windsurf. I must not be too bright because I love to sail and live in the desert state of New Mexico.
My bike is stock for now, but as my abilities grow I can upgrade the performance incrementally with the advice of this forum.
As to the Questions:
1. What is your first name (or middle name)? Bill
2. When's your birthday (year if you want to include it)? 3/22
3. What do you do for a living? Electrical Engineer
4. Married or Single? Married
5. Favorite ice cream? Ben & Jerrys Dulin Mudslide (discontinued)
6. Coffee or tea? coffee
7. If you are old enough....what is your favorite "drink"? Tequila, with lime and salt
8. What is your favorite color? Currently Lime Green for some reason?
9. Who is your favorite band / favorite CD? Led Zepplin/4
10. What is your favorite movie? Harold and Maude
11. What is your favorite TV show? Revenge
12. Any pets, if yes, what? 1 Dog, 2 cats.
13. What other hobbies are you into? Ballooning, Skiiing, Sailing
14. What was your first bike? Honda 350 purchased long ago on a Sunday, in the ER on Monday
15. Who or what inspired you to ride? Old Demons need chasing away.
16. How long have you been riding? 3 weeks so far this time.

Right on man, those demons do like to hit on occasion. Welcome to KF Bill and congrats on the new ride.
Gotta love the full on lean of a sail boat. That is some righteous fun right there.

Thank for the welcome
One key to life is select sports activities that take advantage of the weather:
Ride when it is nice, sail when it is windy, ski when it is snowy, drink when it rains!
Now to utilize the valuable data from this site. While checking the tightness on the bike, one of the front fork pinch studs was twisted almost off. Well it broke with a slight turn. Based on the search; vice grips application of a little heat (260 C) according to Loctite and I will replace the the stud with a M6x45mm bolt an cut it off. Man I love the info here.
Also the picture (losing a front wheel) in that thread was inspirational

Hey Capt, (personal edit here; sorry)..
Ride when it is nice, ride when it is windy, ride when it is snowy, and ride when it rains!
Glad you're with us! (You might be surprised how old some of US are!) Post up some pics of your new ride, and jump in on the discussion. Don't hesitate to ask questions, we're a pretty friendly bunch.
Gear up; stay safe.

I will defer to the number 1 old guy and stick with the Capsize thing from here on. Spilled a lot of beers to earn that title.
I will share one of my favorite bumper stickers,
"Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill"
