New Guy - Arizona
Hey guys, just stopping by here because I've recently acquired my first motorcycle. It is an '88 Kawasaki EX500. I just picked up the bike last night and I already love it. This is my first motorcycle that I have ever ridden and I must say, it's so much fun...
I've got an extensive automotive background, (I drive a modified ‘02 WRX, owned a JDM Nissan Silvia, four 240sx's, etc...) and I've always wanted a motorcycle. Finally, an opportunity that I couldn't refuse came up and so I jumped on it! The bike isn't in great shape... but it's a good start I think. It's got 20,000 miles and the engine was rebuilt about 3,000 miles ago. It's definitely a tired cycle, it's been dropped, missing some parts, broken pieces here and there, but all-in-all is a stout starter IMHO! I've got plans to get the wheels repaired and re-powder coated, along with restoring and repainted the fairings. Also, I am going to replace the mirrors, front blinkers, and possibly get a new seat. Anyways, I'm excited to get the project rolling on (it is soooo much cheaper than building a car...) and will keep you guys posted. I've got one crappy cell phone picture of the bike for now, so enjoy:

RE: New Guy - Arizona
Thanks for the welcome fella's! I pulled all the fairings off the bike today to clean up the frame, there was a bunch of oil and some other fluids baked onto it here and there... looks much cleaner now! I ordered a set of wheels off eBay that I'm going to restore, I can't wait for them to get here! Does anyone know where I could source some front turn signals?
