Hi all,
Thought it was time to join the site and try to participate here and there. Reading all the valuable posts in here helped me decide on my latest bike. I pick up my 2011 black and white klx 250s next weekend.

Welcome to the forums, my neighbor up north! You will love the KLX, have fun, stay safe, and check out my Ride Report from 2008.

I, checked out your link of your trip to my humble little Island, great pics.
It's nice to see it as another riders destination.
Quite often I head east off the Island on my road bike (cbf1000)for my vacations.
This year I plan on spending more time here, out in the back country, with my new KLX. There are a ton of logging roads and single track trails to explore.

Island, welcome. Glad to have you with us. Good call on the KLX. Lotsa advice available here.
As for you, n8300n, young man, straight from the NGK website:
1975-1972 KAWASAKI F9 350
Spark Plug Part No. Stock No. Plug Gap Photo
Standard B10HS 2399 .040
As for the filter, you may need to go with the OE. You might need to special order a handfull of the NGK's, since it's likely not a huge seller. Hope this helps. Welcome aboard. Keep us posted; let us know how your search goes.

Remember, it's a 2-stroke...... I would recommend changing the plug at least every year. Depending upon how much you ride, you'll want to keep several on hand especially if they're difficult to find. (A 10-pack is not outrageous, IMHO.) Hey, it's Christmas.....well, kinda. Treat yourself!

Yeah and always have a spare plug or 2 on longer rides, those things can foul pretty easy unless you keep it opened up. That's why I never liked Two Smokes for trail riding, you either have to ride on the high end or you are going to oil the plugs.

F9 Bighorn
I bought this bike new in 1974. It's never failed to run like a top. Unfortunately it has not been started for 30 years. It's TLC number is 5, it has always been kept in the garage. It is not my intention to ride it a lot, my first love is my Ultra Classic Harley, I'm a 1950 model, the old F9 will be my grandson's and he's only 6.
I'll get her restored, no hurry for me. I'm retired so I have all the time I need to get it done. I think it only has 6000 miles, I have to look tomorrow. Just something to do this winter.
