Hello. My name is clark and i am new to motorcycles and riding all together. i am an army rotc cadet at east tennessee state university in johnson city. i am working on my masters in criminology. my bachelors was in criminology with a minor in military science. i am going to be buying my first bike here in a month or a little less. i have no license yet and no experience riding, as much as i hate to say it. [:'(] i am wanting to get a ninja 250. i have heard lots of flack about this bike because its not a jet... the thing is, i dont want something that incredibly fast. i am looking for something that i can cruise on the interstate with and ride the twisties with. and maybe, just maybe, take a gal out for a ride on. i am very serious about my military career ahead and want to be as safe as possible and am not into racing. is the 250 a good bike for me to start out on. i am 5'9 and 149 pounds. thank you for your thoughts and responses in advance sirs. hoooah!

250's are great bikes they get good mpg and are fun in the twisties. Start on a bike you feel comfortable with don't worry about everyone else...but I think that is what you are doing so good luck and welcome to the forum.
