[align=left]yea i thought about maybe getting a 250 or something because ive driven or rode? my friends motorcross 250 bike a couple of times and that seems to be pretty fast and stuff especially because im a beginner but ive heard from many many people that getting a 250 when starting kinda sucks because you outgrow it super quick

hmm, the term "Outgrow" may mean different things to each individual and the needs expected for that ride.

Not sure actually. I bought and built a '90 zx7 in '90 just for track time. She still goes strong. So actuall miles is a mute point for me. Yes, 50k miles is a lot of miles. But if well taken care of, I would think 80 or so and you had better take the compression/leak down tests for it. Although I do those tests and any adjustments at 100 miles.

Do a compression test on it. Check the brake rotors and bads. Start it up, make sure it starts easily and doesn't sputter. Look for any leaks. Check the condition of the brake fluid. Check all the electrical accessories.

welcome to KF. 50,000 miles and up is worn out. if you do get a higher mileage bike make sure all service records are there.

anything much higher than that, and you don't know how it was maintained, or if your not mechanically proficient, I'd stay away from, unless you want to learn
