Default Klx250sf + new guy

Hello people! I've had my bike for about 2 months now, riding it like crazy!!! 2010 blue klx250sf, love it. I've been reading here for about 9 months or so, finally decided to join this as well as supermotojunkie and advrider. Quick question, I've been having an issue with my transmission or chain possibly. When I shift from 1st to 2nd and I rev and let out the clutch on the last second of clutch engagement, right when I let go, I feel and hear a "ggggrrunch" type of noise. Is this normal? Thanks

Welcome to KF, I've also said welcome on AdvRider but the more the merrier.

I am no expert on mechanics but what your describing could be related to many of things, clutch, transmission, and what seems to be an issue for a few people is the shift star(seen here: https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum...-change-35512/) but they shift star issue usually has different symptoms, i.e. the transmission being stuck in a particular gear.

There are a lot of great members and some of the best advice in the KLX250 specific forum, I would highly suggest posting up a thread with your question there.

Welcome! It's a fun bike, especially on crowded freeways splitting lanes and riding stairs!
