Mixture screws have virtually no effect past about 1/4 throttle, but can screw up the idle and slow speed riding.

Plug wire resistance is nit picking and wlll have no real world effect unless you have a lead bad ebnough to cause a misfire. That'll be obvious.

I'm guessing that this is sorted by now, so post what you found.
