Hello from Team Chevelle
Hi,
I'm new to the forum, thought I'd say hello. I'm currently a member of a couple other automotive forums under this name so I thought I'd stick with it for consitency. My usual stomping ground is Team Chevelle www.chevelles.com where I've been a member for some years.
I recently purchased a '94 Ninja 500 and figured I should get in touch with some people that know their stuff.
I'm also in the process of a frame-off restoration of a '69 chevelle malibu convertible. Most recently we (my dad and I) successfully mated the front of a convertible frame (along with the boxed portion - needed for extra strength on the vert) to the rear of a hardtop frame. Tell you what, grinding out about 10 feet worth of factory welds while keeping the frame parts intact is no fun task! The front-end of the hardtop was wrecked pretty bad and the rear of the ragtop frame was rotted from having been driven through a creek and having wet sand sit inside it for ~30 years.
So anyways, barring any issues getting this ride insured/registered and getting myself licensed i should be riding soon!

RE: Hello from Team Chevelle
I hope I won't end up hating anyone on the forums!
When I find my digi I'll snap a few pics of the bike and the car. The 'velle isn't much to look at right now. We're waiting for the weather to get better here in Buffalo before we finish up a few welds on the frame and (hopefully) send it out to be galvanized. The body is a rusting hulk, but it has potential. Any sane car guy would have scrapped it years ago, but it was my dad's first car so there's plenty of sentimental value in the car, as well as an excellent father-son project.
talk to you all soon!
