Fouled Spark Plugs

Default Fouled Spark Plugs

Anybody know why my 77 kz1000 fouls spark plugs all the time

heavy soot? really wet? plugs These are new plugs and you have verified the wires and coils?

Hey Torm, post a pic or three of the fouled plugs. Let's see 'em. (Correct replacement heat range?)

It seem like the left two cylinders seem to foul the plugs like very dark and carboned never wet, have dayna ign and coils, have piston kit, cams, pipe, and jetted. With 160-175 comp.

Make sure your coil wires are snug up into the connectors. Sometimes when you screw on those funky caps, the wires don't make real good contact. Maybe your left side coil is the culprit.

Correction Jeff, the left coil (as sitting on the bike) covers the #1 and #4 cylinders. I was hopeing that the OP would confirm that after the engine rebuild, that the wires were installed correctly first of all and that the connections were good. (in which I agree with your connection check)

+1 on the pics

The condition of the plugs will tell alot about why they have fouled.
