Default Another Newbie

Hi there,
I have a kawasaki ninja zx600 on an v reg 1999 and think is a fantastic bike. It is at the garage at the moment getting a major service, shims new fork seals caliper seals etc.. . Should get it back tomorrow after been off the road for the week. Should cost me around £800.00 . Looking into getting a newD.I.D chain but was thinking ofputting onthe chain myself. Has anyone done this as i am new to this?

cheers Richard

No did not get the chain replaced as thought was expensive. Wanted £125.00 for d.i.d chain kit and £65.00 to fit to bike. Was wondering howeasy it was to fit the chain and sprocket setto the bike and what tools were needed.

Cheers Richard {uk}

screwdriver, hammer, pliers, allen wrenches and a bigger hammer to fix it if it dont fit. count your links and order a chain with that amount of links on it so you wont have to cut it.

Welcome to the forums wingwing. From the sounds of the chain install costs, it is an endless chain. That would/may require a grinder or breaker, then a rivet tool if you plan on keeping it an endless chain. If it is a masterlink type of chain install, just do it yourself.
