Almost ready to talk...
Here's the thing... I've been wanting a bike for a long time, now. I still have my "MC" endorsment. I've gone to motorcycle shows... visited dealerships... even made a half-hearted attempt to buy a scooter (YIPE!) on eBay. After reading the forums I decided that the Ninja 250 was what I wanted. The main reason: I have not seen one single negative comment by any RIDER. There were negative opinions ("too small") but it looked like those all came from people who had not really swung a leg over one. The second reason: compared to every other brand (and especially cheesy off-shore scooters) there is NO BETTER VALUE available.
When I finally did decide to pull the pin, all of the local dealers were out (ouch) or had jacked up the prices (OUCH) of the few that were still to arrive (none in yellow). Then - somehow - I found Beartoot Kawasaki (beartoothkawasaki.com). I sent them email and they responded right away. I talked with these folks on the phone and every one of them was friendly and willing to take the time to explain things and work with me. In addition, a business acquaintance of mine (who rides a Harley) said that he visits with these folks almost every year and he commented that they were just great people. There is this thing of "location" though --- Red Lodge, Montana is OUT THERE and on the way to the East Entrance of Yellowstone! I thought about buying a trailer and heading out there to pick it up, but they can ship, and at a very reasonable price.
So --- in about a week --- I should have my brand new, 2006, YELLOW, Ninja 250. After that, I tell you more.
