Well, after working all winter on my custom F4i (link), a kid who couldn't control his 2007 ZX-6R slammed into me. Although the CBR came out of the accident mechanically sound - I rode it to and from Vancouver a week later (1300 miles roundtrip) - the cosmetic damage is enough to ensure the bike will be a write-off.

I never really thought about buying a Kawasaki until one smashed into me! Although I really don't care for the 2007's looks, I have to say, I think the 05-06 636 is one of the most beautiful machines ever devised. More importantly, that brilliant slipper clutch, sculptured swingarm and lap timer are fantastic additions.

So, I finally found a 2005 636 for sale - they're pretty rare up here in Canada. It's bone-stock - I can't wait to make a project of it! I will have to paint it - I don't care for the (decidedly gray) 'Titanium' colour. Hey - at least it's not lime 'sherbet' green or that not-quite-red orange colour.
