Default will clarke tank fit my beast?

Got a line on a good used clarke tank but unsure if it will fit, soooo....Will a clarke 2.7 tank that is for 06-08 (according to Clarke site) also fit a 2011 klx250s?

Thanks!

Don't know about the Clarke, but the IMS 3.0 gallon fit perfect on my 2009. I had 2, first a black one, then sold it to get a natural colored one so I can see my fuel level through it. Much better in my opinion. But each his own. Amazon has good deals once in a while. I paid $160 for a new IMS 3 gallon tank.

My guess is that it will not. My understanding is that the 06-07 bikes (which is what I have) are basically a sleeved down KLX300R with lights and a speedo.

The post 08 bikes share the motor of the 06-07 bike, but a lot of parts will not work. The post 08 bikes use a different frame, which is the main reason I think the early tank will not work. Post '08 bikes are substantially different.

If you have a good deal lined up buy can't take it I would be interested in it for my '06.

Taxonomy, I think the 06/07 models are a little more like the '09 and later models than we may think. There are definitely some differences, but they are probably more similar than not. On the fuel tank issue, I know a good many '09 owners have installed the Acerbis tank for the KLX300 without much heartburn. It bolts in fairly straight forward but yields a little more of a gap at the front of the saddle. That said, the Clarke tank might have some issues with the factory radiator panels, something the Acerbis tank doesn't have to address since you just remove them. Maybe some Clarke owners will chime in.

On the engines between the KLX250 and 300, there's no sleeve. Both engines use an aluminum cylinder with a Nikasil-type coating.

No way Kawi spent money to change the frame.
Like TNC mentioned, the side panels might not fit. And AFAIK, no one has tried swapping old and new model plastics.
You could try it then pass on the deal to someone else if it doesn't fit.

Kawasaki KLX250 Clarke Fuel Tank Take a look at part#'s 06-08 is little larger capacity yeah I know just a tenth of a gallon big whop but still bigger. So could mean difference in frame size between the two models. I think I would pass on it.
