Who here has raced their KLX250s off road or even MX?

No Gopro footage but I wouldn't race the KLX250S without the 351 kit. Just simply too heavy and under powered. No drive in sand. Its kind of annoying for me cause that is usually all that is around me. Suspension can be fixed. But still getting around on installed the KX125 '93 forks. The rear brake lever is too high up.
With the right tyres and the 351, I wouldn't hesitate to enter a amateur enduro comp though. Oh and you really want a quarter turn throttle as well.
I usually use Pirelli MT21 front and back since the bike is a daily however would use Pro F.I.M. on the back if I was planning to hit the dirt a lot.

I don't exactly race mine, but I use it as my practice woods/hare scramble bike, and have brought it as a spare for our annual 6hr hare scramble. I put in some pretty fast lap times with mine, so I think it would be fine in in the woods, as long as your expectations were realistic. It's not a lot different than a KLX300, which was a pretty competitive woods bike in it's day.

I know dan888 raced his in two or more cross-country races. Anyone remember the vid he had of that spectacular crash over a jump where his GoPro captured his bike's headlight looking back at him in mid-air?

Good crash. Absolutely classic!
Blackheart used to race his KLX. But he also raced his KLR650 in the dirt so there's that!
