Here is the 06 wiring diagram, which is identical to the 07 as far as I know:
http://www.ecmqc.com/KLX/KLX250S-wiring-diagram.pdf

Since Larry swapped the stator from his 07, I think he's got everything covered, I mean everything will connect as before on his bike, no?

And yes, the 2 wire connector on the 07 harness is the crank sensor.

Thanks RayCour, haven't studied that .pdf yet but I think that just the neutral switch connector will need a modification to tie into the '07 harness. I'll print that and tape the pages together. It will be easier to follow the current flow on paper.

Thanks again for your help guys.. I am thinking I'll be working on it a little more tonight or tomorrow night, so I'll start uncovering those wires..

I forgot about the bike this weekend - I just didn't want to think about it. hahaaa.. I went snowboarding instead to keep my mind off it!!

You're absolutely right. He will want to use the neutral switch from the 09 bottom end, which will require some rewiring. I just forgot about that when I said everything was covered by changing the stator for the 07.

Edit: I assume the neutral switch from the 07 is not mechanically compatible with the 09. If it were, then swapping it would be the simplest thing to do.

Hmmmmm my only comment, and I'm sure its no surprise to most of you is that I would have to clean everything up before I even thought about working on that project. I hate grease and oil! Sorry I guess that's all I got to say about that.

HHS - that's funny. Many of us have our own obsessive-compulsive (dis)orders. We know what deej's is.

deej - good to see you around as it seems you've been mia for a bit! Were you out on a ride?

CousinLarry, I recommend leaving the '09 neutral wire as long as possible so the splice can be up under the seat somewhere. Solder and heatshrink would be the best.

ZEE MOTAR .... IT'S FEEENEESHED!!!! Muuahahaaaa

Turned it over a few times, great compression (new rings and de-glazed cylinder), all timed correctly, new spark plug.. I do believe it's just about ready to go back in the bike and cross my fingers that it fires.

I'm leaving work at about noon time today to get home and (hopefully) finish.

I'll report back.

Way to go, CL! It's always a great feeling when the motor is back together...especially after all the fun you've had with it.

I bet she'll fire up.
