Default 2009 klx250s

Hey guys I have had my RED 250s for 5 days and I can't keep off of it. I was wondering if it was possible to get more lower end power out of the bike? I was hoping to be able to pull the front wheel off the ground to hop over small logs etc. I am willing to spend 500 - 1000 to get this done.

P.S I choose the klx over the 250r Yamaha simply because of the package and the way the bike felt.

Rejet,Exaust,13T sproket & if that doesn't wake it up enough for you go with a big bore 330cccylinder. There is more but that would definately be within the budget with some thrifty shopping.

I second that. I did the KLX-300 exhaust and free mods and I am real happy. No wheelies but, the front end lifts a little.

Right with ya there Deej..

I have an 07, but I think mods are pretty much the same.

300kit, Dynojet Kit, Staintune Pipe, These mad a huge difference.

Cheers
Chris.

I agree here but would add a pumper carb of some sort, preferably the keihin fcr as they are probably the best. This would give you the instant snap to loft the wheel up. The rejetted stock cv is okay, but off-road the pumper would outperform it hugely. I'd rather have a pumper carb over a big-bore if the other mods are done to the bike concurrently.

Congrats, murdog. I've had mine for almost three weeks. I did the first oil change (597 miles, 3/4 off road) last Tuesday. So far, only thing I'd change is an inch or so lower and more comfortable seat.

No you wouldn't Bore first then pumper. A year and a half ago there was that "tour de appacholica" or sumthin...I was running the 300 piston with the jetted cvk carb, muzzy and 300 piston.....Marty still had the 250 piston with a pumper carb and pipe. Long story short my 300 with cvk was better.

Shoot maybe ems will chime in .... he rode my bike and martys that weekend and I remember him sayin bigger bore was better.

Now after I got the 340 I did get a FCR 35 and it is definately a big improvement over the cvk.....Long story short bore first then pumper carb.....then cams if you want to move the power around a little.
