If you have the tm33 you can't adjust the squirter I believe, only the jets.

Yes it should hit the needle, but I doubt that is your problem.
The 33 does not have an adj squirter, but I made a retaining device out of wire or metal that limits it's operation. I thought it was hurting my gas mileage, so it only works from 1/8 to 1/4 stroke now.
Didn't notice any difference in mileage, probably cause of all the leaking gas while the bike is laying on it's side on the trail.

I don't know about your TM33. On the TM36-68, I used needle nose pliers to direct the squirt nozzle at the needle. It was squirting high and to the left. I don't know if this could be the bog. A mechanic I was speaking with a couple weeks ago said the squirt should be directed at the center of the "V" in the intake (pic below). But how would one fine tune that without mirrors and magic? Striking the needle makes more sense as it seems like the fuel jet hitting the needle would be more likely to atomize. But what do I know?

As of now it isn't . I wonder if that's what is giving be the bog when I crack it open.
The answer to your question is in my previous post.
Just read it
From the limited information you've posted I suspect you're jetted too rich
