Default supermoto clinic

Over the weekend I took a supermoto race clinic with AMA super moto racers Tim Weig and Brandon Ward. It was my second time on a track, first time with this bike. I learned a lot, am super sore and cant wait to get back and practice more. Both teachers were incredibly helpful at explaining different techniques breaking down and pointing out problem areas. I highly reccomend it if you get the chance to take a class with them.

heres some video and pics from the day.

I'd love to do something like that. It would be interesting to see if I had the guts to back the bike in. The 650 would be the trick.

Tell the AMA to start racing them again. Best racing along with the Grand National Flat Track Series.

They really dropped the ball with that series. It was great racing. I got to see the race in Columbus in 2003. Totally awesome.

That is cool! Envious of the bike culture out there. I would love to try that out, with some professional supervision and advice.

The klx was defiantly the runt of the pack. Most other guys were on their race bikes and very experienced riders. It was great in the dirt section the table top was perfect size for the klx to tackle. On the straight aways and sweepers i got blasted. So much fun and so much room for improvement on my part. I think a little sticker / wider tire would be much better. other than that im not at a level where i can say the bike is holding me back besides twisting the throttle and nothing left in it.

I went to a NASMoto race a few years back and saw how much the rider matters. I saw a rider running a clapped out late 80s Honda XR600R in the one class smoking some riders on nice shiny KTMs. He was running some street tread 21 (I think a Metzler ME33 like used on choppers) and a really used looking Dunlop Sport Elite bias ply maybe a 130! He was cooking

Then there was that kid on a KX80 with flat track tires...

that's awesome. I'd love to get some track time in one of these years.
