Slide spring stiffness with MCM and air bleed hole drilled.

You really need to get rid of the cam & valves to make the bike flip on a 250-350, 2 smokers rule in that size.
I got the klx so I wouldn't be flipping. It is a terrible habit. Glad you got it back together and running good.

Thinking out loud about the mystery of a carb not working on one bike but then working fine on another....
I'm wondering if somewhere in the process of travel, change in heat, passing over laylines and xray scans by homeland security... the diaphragm seated itself properly? If it only takes a C hair to mess it up, could enough outside force make it proper? Maybe as it bounced around in the back of a Grumman, the slide was able to jump around without a vaccum being the cause?
I'm sure the carb was sent in a proper shipping package, but the slide could act as a weight and the spring would allow for a bunch of smooth up and down motions if the package was shaken enough, would it not?

Sure DP.. why not.. After running Snowdrifters carb "out of the box", I took it off, put in my jetting setup, and it malfunctioned!
This was my first experience with just how difficult a "testy" diaphragm can be to seal properly during reassembly. His carb required "special care and attention" that my CVK didn't - in regard to diaphragm reassembly..
This experience turned my focus toward consistent, persistent, mis-reassembly by those experiencing the 5.5-6.5k stumbles - now including ANY stumbles.. This seems to be correct as several have now cured thier CVK's with this approach.. Most CVK diaphragms are easy to reassemble correctly, some are quite difficult.
