150 might be too big, but a 120 should be fine

140 rear and 120 front is supposed to be the best combo, 150 is too heavy for the rear even if you can get it to fit

Still loving how steady & predictable the handling became with the 120 up front & 140 on the rear. I rode a stock SF bike with 110 & 130 a couple of weeks ago & it felt so skittish at high speed & was falling into corners with alarming speed.

Old thread dredging here... I'm looking to Sumo mine for Track days and Racing. The Sumo guys out there are using a 5.0x17 rim with a 165/55x17 slick on the rear... will this even fit on one of our bikes?

120/80 is pretty standard for a front slick, so i'm good to go there.

Default I'll dredge too...

MmmmBeefy - I seriously doubt a 165 will go. When I was digging on this I saw a few guys with 150 but it was sketchy tight IMO.

I put the 120 front and 140 rear Diablo Rosso II's on. Are you guys getting anywhere near to the edge of the tire? I'm a woosy and all, but I'm nowhere close to using the full tire and I think it's because it's curved too much on the stock rim.

It's 100x better than stock IRC Road Weeners, but I am second guessing having gone up in size. I don't see how you can lean this bike far enough to use the 120 front and 140 rear.

Please tell me I am wrong so I can got try harder.

You're wrong. The 120 will always have chicken strips, its just too tall, even most sport bikes you can't rub off the front chicken strips, it has to do with geometry.

The rear? I've started shredding the side wall of the tire (not the part you're supposed to ride on) leaning so hard....Try harder

I always love learning that it's my fault... that way I don't have an excuse to spend more money.
