Default setting rear sag

I tried searching, but apparently the search engine doesn't work with three letter words. Is the rear suspension travel 9.1"? What are you setting your sag at...25%-30%? Is there an easy way to adjust the preload...can someone recommend a spanner wrench or should I just use a hammer and punch to turn the nuts? BTW, I have 3.75" of sag now so that's about 41% of total travel if the travel is actually 9.1". I weigh around 180 with gear.

I see the link to Bruce's Suspension Setup is no longer active. Man...that was the best site for concise, understandable, suspension setup for dirt bikes I had ever seen. It's a shame.

Did you try searching through the FAQs? I bet most of the answers are there.

You might want to let us know which bike you have.
The guideline is 1/3 of travel, WITH THE CORRECT SPRING WEIGHT!
Put the bike on a stand when making the adjustments to make it easier to spin the nuts.

I was under the impression, that different years had different travel, but maybe that is just the front end.

Oops, it's an '09. Is the spring marked for what rate it is?

No markings on the spring.
Pretty sure you need a stiffer spring.

Unless you're a serious (fast) rider, the stock rates on the 09 bike should be fine for your weight

Found this: kb1

I'd save a copy on your hard drive just in case.
