rear wheel for 2011 klx250s
Im trying to find a rear wheel for my klx. Anyone know of a wheel from another bike that will fit? Or where i can one for a reasonable price? I called the dealership here and they want $500 for it... seems rediculous to me for a wheel.

I believe any of the KLX250/300 hubs from 94-14 will work, only difference I've ever known of might be the brake rotor fastener size, although it may be the front rotor that is different. Go to Kawasaki's site, look up your hub, see what fasteners are used and compare to other hubs you may find. The 2011 bike runs 8mmx15mm as does the 06. So I'm thinking they may all be the same, but check at this link. You want to be sure.
You need to use the 09-14 brake rotor with your caliper carrier fitting the larger rotor for those years. The pre-09 is a smaller rotor requiring the earlier carrier, I know, I am running the smaller rotor on my bike. I think my rear hub is an earlier version which used larger fasteners. I have KLX300 rotors front and rear now. The PO had two sets of wheels and apparently sold the one with the petal cut rotors, not that I care, the 300s work fine.
Why the smaller rear rotor you might wonder? Less brake power is better for me as I learned again this weekend. Seems when I use the rear brake when wearing MX boots, I'm still not light footed enough. I also find the front brake has plenty of strength so no worries about that slight bit of rear braking lost. I have no idea why they put the bigger rotor on unless it was for the newer riders who may tend to rely more on rear braking.

The rear hub - and front - from a lot of Kaw dual sport and off roaders are the same to a point. Most rear are identical, possibly bearing ID for axles, but hubs are the same - except the KLX650C cush hub. Front hubs depend on speedo drive, if one was going to scrap out the stock set up an MX hub might fit, maybe if fitting a Vapour electronic set up. The front hub must otherwise have the speedo drive machining on it. All the KDX and KLX hubs swap out up to the 09 KLX250, which has the electronic speedo set up, I think it's different.
Most rear wheel size of the enduro off road bkes are 18", the MX may likely be 19", the KLX650C dual sport with cush hub has a 17".

I only need a rear wheel but thanks for the info! I found a wheel online for sale and its a 18"×2.15. Its from a 650 though. I only really want the hub, so youre saying it should fit fine?
