Default Radiator Hoses

Just had a couple of questions about radiator hoses on the KLXs.
1) Has anyone had one fail on a ride? Like being struck and punctured?
2) Is there a difference in hoses between the hose sets for 06-07 and the 09+? Looks like maybe only the left-to-right rad connector hose is dif...
3) Anyone used the ones on eBay for $22? They only have an 06-07 fitment.

***Wow the stock replacements are expensive!

TIA,
TC

My '06 has the original hoses...lots of use...well over 30K miles...no issues and they still feel pliable and supple. One of the hoses was cut to insert a Trail Tech temp sensor, and it's never show a drop of a leak. The factory hoses are very good and will last a very long time. While no component is indestructible, even crash damage is an extreme rarity.

Funny you should ask. I ran into a steel stake sticking out beside a road, hit my skid plate then bounced up and tore the smaller right side rad hose. I would say this is a pretty rare event.

Sad thing is I didn't notice and ran the bike for 50+ km's with no coolent. Luckily I live where its cool and did not overhead to bad. Still have good compression as well.

I couldn't wait to order online so picked up a pretty similar radiators hose from a local parts place. 10 bucks, Done.
