radiator fan

I've only ever heard my radiator fan come on a couple of times in the years of owning the KLX.
On those occasions, it happened in very hot weather.

From the 2009 KLX Factory Service Manual:
"When the coolant temperature goes up beyond 95 -101°C (203 -214°F), the radiator fan switch conducts to operate the radiator fan. The radiator fan draws air through the radiator core when there is not sufficient air flow such as at low speeds. This increases up the cooling action of the radiator. When the temperature is below 80C (189°F), the fan switch opens and the radiator fan stops."
Considering the size of the engine and the relatively large dual radiators the fan should come on very seldom if at all.

I hadn't heard mine come since i bought my latest bike, but it has been on the cool side weather wise.
I pulled the plug on the thermostat and shorted across the contacts, just to make sure the fan ran. It did.
My older KLX's fan usually came on only on long slow climbs in warm weather.
