aaaahhhh! A gallon of gas & my emergency tools for tire change, maybe 18 lbs or so.... Oh yea, I bottomed the rear end a couple of times, but they weren't big hits. I made it back to the motel with a little help of my friends. It didn't break where I fixed it, it broke another 6" towards the front.

I rode some ST out of Aspen today, my new subframe did not fall off! I put my tools in a bag bungied to the back of the seat (i never ride there anyway unless I am wooping it up).

 

OK, I am at a loss on finding some 5/8" or .630" OD weldable steel tubing....
Anyone have any suggestions??????

 

Do you have any of the old bits?
Maybe add some angle steel if you do?
Or just get the closest yet larger size tubing and beef it up so it doesn't happen again?
Probably have to buy more than you'll ever need, how about these guys?

OK, thanks guys, your better than me.
I am going to braze the piece in, not weld and it appears that the SS would work also for that, but that steel tube looks pretty close to what I need.
