Back in the day, the great "unwashed" (including myself) seemed to be all about the main jet only. It was as if nothing else did anything. Of course we were short tracking, but still not sensible.

Some Euro bikes were fabled to not be able to idle. Bultaco and Maico were primary on the list. Oddly enough when we "discovered" pilot jets actually came in different sizes, much like main jets, seems my Bultaco and my friend's Maico would sit there and idle with the ease of a street bike.

Amazing what great "discoveries" we made as uninformed youth... makes that old quote so much more true - If we only knew then what we know now...

Just before I order the kdx snorkel (deeper water last ride), I'd like to confirm it fits on the 09+ models? Almost positive it does .

Has anyone who has used the KDX snorkel noticed if the intake noise is reduced below that of running with no lid? is it significant enough to justify the cost? I don't care about water as a street rider but am growing weary of the loudness of my lidless box but also dislike the loss of torque/power when using the KLX snorkel.
