I heard there were several bikes not being offered in '10/'11, to include the KLX250S. I would expect some new stuff in '11/'12. As early release items, maybe? Just a thought...Would a KLX450S, done right, not be nice?

While I didn't see the KLX450, the KLX250S was still in the lineup for '10 and '11. I think you may have clicked on "new-for" 2011. I don't know why people would be complaining. Look at all the ATV/UTV models offered now.

My local shop that I worked at part time for 15 years say they wouldn't even be in business if it weren't for the ATV/UTV market. They're motorcycle guys, but money and markets keep the doors open. When you go to Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and just about anywhere else, just look around and count heads as to what people are riding. It's a shame IMO...at least to some degree. While the good news is that ATVs/UTVs have opened up the serious backcountry to many more people, the bad news is that ATVs/UTVs have opened up the serious backcountry to more people.

I'm more concerned specifically with the dolts on those pocket-rocket model UTVs like the T-Rex and whatever name of that Polaris model that's out there. On my last trip to SE Utah and later to Colorado, I found many of these guys driving these things at high speed on blind corners like they were the only ones out there. IMO they allow too many dummies to go way faster than they should for either safety or their experience level. They're like small Baja trophy trucks, and many of their owners don't seem to have situational awareness about other trail users. At least on a dirt or dualsport motorcycle, Dawin's law will usually quickly address the problem of a moron behind the handlebar. These pocket-rocket UTVs wrap the dummy up in a safe roll cage cocoon while he puts everyone else who isn't in a similar cage at risk.

I have heard that there will not be a '11 KLX 250 ( in the states ) and that we will get them back in '12 as an early release. Hints and rumors abound about it having FI. I am praying that a KLX 450 will join it but I am not getting my hopes up.

However, a FI 250 should make some pretty good power.

I was told by my local dealer a few models were not going to be around for '11. I have few other details. FWIW...We'll see what happens.

Me too!

BTW,

Why isn't there a section for the KLX450 in this forum?
