Default KLX250s - Where did you mount your GPS ?

I recently bought a GPS, a Garmin 560 I beleive. It's pretty large, (atleast for my tastes) and it's touch screen, it talks and is not waterproof.

I was wondering where you guys mounted your GPS and if anybody waterproofed there touch screen GPS.

I was thinking to mount it right on my handlebars, (Pro Tapers SE) in the middle bar where the Pro Taper Pad would go. Just drill some holes inside and make a plate with rubber to remove the vibration. But the only issue with this is it would be quite low.

Anyways, your feedback would be appreciated!

Thanks.

I bought a RAM mount for my iPhone and put it on the handlebar. Here's some pics of it.

this is how i have it mounted...handlebar ball mount (cheap from ebay)...didn't bother with watherproof case...haven't had any problems with sprinkles or light showers....but, you can put it inside a ziploc bag...snap it in the ball mount and close the ziploc...had no problems...i have a handlebar mount power plug....easier to wrap the cord around the handlebar...

this is what you want
The gps bag is available from ebay. Some say 4.3", some 5", some 6", they're all the same size. Mounting differs a lot though. I got one just as shown attached. I didn't like the swivel ball mount as it placed gps too high, so I cut the ball stud off, and used large washers to thru bolt the bag to the clamp.

I power it with one of these. I opened it up and potted it in rtv before hard wiring to battery.

I'm using a cheap garmin nuvi with free topo maps from gps depot.

I run a Toratech mount, I love it. It's a tad pricey but it's super solid. It's got a lock too, it's not theft proof but it keeps honest people honest that's all. If you want to get it up higher they have ram mount adapters on Rocky mountain atv.
