i finally hit 100mph on my 09 klx! it was fun and very stable, i was on flat ground on interstate 15 at the top of the cajon pass in southern california. it felt good except for the motor sounded like it was gonna explode lol not many mods except for two bros exhaust, uni filter and dj jet kit. i weigh 135 by the way.. i think that helped a bit to lol 15/43 gearing and kenda k270 tires

 

100 mph on speedo or GPS? If speedo: 100 = 90.

 

Interesting...gearingcommander.com now has the 2009 version of the KLX250S. With OP's 15/43 gears (and no adjustment for tires), 100 mph on a 2009 at 9450 rpm, and is at about 9000 rpm on the '06.

The 2009 final 6th gear ratio is 20 / 21
2006 is 19 / 21.

 

done it also, kinda scary holding revs that high though. i did 108 or something(speedo incated) in death valley on a slight hill with stock gearing and a new 130 606. i also weight about 135.

 

how about the 86mph club? I weigh 320 pounds.

I'm not speed demon on the KLX but I have ZX12 for going fast. I also do track days with the Ninja, here's me getting ready for track session...

 

How steep was the downhill, and how fast was the tailwind?

I haven't had my 331 up faster than 80. Stock gearing. It had some left, but....I couldn't think of an excuse to see what it's top speed is.

 

The hotties really like guys with ninjas. Why is there a sir mix-a-lot song in my head now?

I know my SF will never see 100. 85 indicated is all I can get topped out. Maybe 86 on a down hill. My speedo is 7% fast checked with a GPS.
