KSF 250 Mojave/ KLX 250s/ KFX 250 Mojave

My little rice burning toys. All running great, the 300 carb is doing fine on the KLX, been having a blast riding it lately. Still need to fit the Kouba screw and #40 pilot, but other than that, no complaints!

Josh,

Nice collection of ricers, hahaha!

Just curious about your 300 carb comment - KLX300 carb? Isn't it also a CV34?

Happy Fourth back at ya! Great country, for now...

The one in the middle is the wrong color!

It is a CV34-- ALMOST identical to stock, but has a few differences as you can see in the pictures I posted in the 4K stutter thread.

Im 99% sure, for whatever reason, the K148 main is a bit too rich-- at about 80mph indicated, the bike will not rev any higher, whether upright, or tucking-- I was able to acheive about 87-88 with my previous K145 and 138 setups. I dont know why theres the discrepancy vs KLXsters AFR readings, but when I pull the carb to install the 40 pilot and Kouba, I am going to go to a #145 main and see if I can get it to rev freely on top again.

There is no doubt that with your airbox lid on, your fueling requirements will be different than what I charted with my bike.

The difference between a K145 and K148 is too small to be felt - unless your K148 is actually incorrectly closer to a K168 !

I might try the #138 then. If I ever get around to the MCM, Ill def go lidless. With the 6db restrictor, you can still make out some intake grawl without the lid! I need to do some more test runs without the lid prior to changing the jet I guess. Just really havent had time to mess with bike last couple weeks.

In any case, my top end is seemingly capped ATM until I do something.

BTW, nice bike!

Put the #40 pilot and Kouba screw in-- after dialing in, idle is perfect, starting and warmup is great again, and decel popping is completely gone.

Also replaced the #148 with the #138 main. Already made a difference, hit 82 sitting upright where it would hit a wall at 80 before. Not a whole lot of time to do further runs though. Curious to do some plug checks as well. Bike doesnt seem to be running hot at all, so Im not concerned with the #138 ATM being too lean.

Fastest I ever had the bike was with full exhaust, no lid, and #145 main-- back in mid to late spring. Looking for the best -6dB setup as of now. I suspect, at least in the heat of the summer, its going to be either #138 or #145 or somewhere in between.

The torque of my green machine still has me itching to do the MCM on the KLX, we had a blast on it today....

Update on the K138 / no snorkle + drilled holes / DG O-Series w/ 1" 6db restrictor.

Bottom is good, and everything from ~4K to 8K is outrageous! The other day I hit 91 indicated in a tuck with this setup! I believe I had a very slight tailwind, but still! Checked the plug after my ride (no plug chop, just checked it cold) and it looked perfect. Sound from the DG is PERFECT. Sounds like a dirtbike, sounds punchy, not headache inducing like full exhaust though! I like it.

Went for an awesome romp though the woods today and the power was just smile-inspiring. Need some new tires though, put it on the ground (and on my right leg) in a grassy knoll from trying to brake too aggressively.

FUN FUN FUN though! I love it!
