Default IMS tank with pumper carb?

Does anyone know if the Mikuni TM33/34 pumper carb causes any problems with the IMS 3 gallon tank installation? This would be on an '09 SF bike with the BB351 kit installed.

Thanks,
Norm

Hi BeenThere.

Did you get a response to this thread? Thinking of same upgrade with IMS tank as well.

Thanks.

Too bad. So did you try the pumper with your IMS tank? and if so did it fit or require modifications?

My bike is a 2010 Dynojet Stage 2 jetted, with a Muzzy exhaust and no air box lid. The 331 kit is on order and I would like to get a pumper next. I saw posts that showed issues with Clarke and Acerbis tanks so that's why I am wondering if my IMS will be an issue.

Thanks.

Hard to imagine the 34mm or 36mm carbs not fitting under the Clark tank since the 36mm carb fits under the huge 3.7 Acerbis tank with some minor modification to the carb's throttle wheel on the 36mm carb. The Acerbis tank has a huge sump that sticks down toward the carb, and the petcock comes closer to the carb. The Acerbis tank is probably the most challenging tank to fit any carb under.

I am running the setup that you are asking about. I have had no problems in getting everything to work together.

FWIW, I've got the IMS tank and the TM36-68 on an '09 klx250s. It's tight, but no modification nescessary to make it fit.

Thanks all. I'll probably get the tank then as my range is pretty short with the 351 kit on the standard tank.

My range, as of last weeks trip, was 116 miles before hitting the reserve switch. 30 miles of dirt & 86 miles of hwy.
