Default I got some new tires! Shinko 705

Just got some new tires put on yesterday. I went with shinko 705 90/90-21 front 120/80-18 rear. I only put a few miles of street on them before it started to rain, but they seem to be exactly what I was going for; deep tread but lots of rubber for contact with the road. I am slowly improving this bike for my 30 mile work commute and I wanted a more street oriented tire. I attached some pics of the 705s. I can't wait to break them in!

I only had 750 easy miles on my stock 605s, so I am planning on selling them. $80 plus shipping. I will post pics of the 605s if anyone is interested.

The 705s are great commuting tires and super fun on a twisty road. Ran some for a trip, and after 3500 miles they almost looked new. Only took them off to put my studded tires back on because winter hadn't given up.
They are also not as bad off road as I thought they would be, just need to keep up the speed in low traction areas and avoid mud.

Good looking street tire. Correct me of I am wrong, the front looks like it is mounted backwards.

They're not backward, that's the proper way to run them

Yes cmott, I had that thought at first as well. However they are on correctly. They have different rotation for front and rear mounting.

those tires will last probably over 15,000 miles...wears extremely slow...they don't have the best grip on corners, so don't get overly confident on the roads....good enough on fire roads and easy dirt roads/rocks...

It seems the tread would force the water to the center of the tire rather then forcing it out when mounted in that direction.

Shinko's are pretty amazing bang for the buck. Unless you're REALLY hardcore (on-road or off) they will do just fine....for a whole lot less money. I love my Raven street tires on the ZX9. (Agree with 666^ above.)

i run into this more frequently than you might believe

ive never seen a directional tire that was not molded or labeled as:

>>> DIRECTION >>> or even some as R> ||| <F

i have customers ask all the time: what pressure does it need???
i make THEM read the sidewall so they will learn at least something
