I drank the klr coolaide.
In my short stay here i have received invaluable info when modding my 09 klx. While the bike was a kick to ride, i bought a 2014 KLR650 2 weeks ago because for me, the klx wasn't the best fit and was too light for me on the road. My new KLR fits my riding style much better, i went for my first ride last night on the twisty's in the mountain area where i live. This bike is what i should have bought 4 bikes ago. Its absolutely perfect for me. Any way, thanks everyone for all the help and input when i was Jetting and other mods, the klx sold yesterday since i don't have time to ride both and i just bought a 2014 Polaris Sportsman 800efi this month too. I'll be around, just in the klr section.
thanks again

ok 2014 klr650, 900 miles, previous owner put on a new seat concepts seat, tall windshield, klr bags and gel battery. I have the stock seat and windshield take offs also. Paid 4900 and the bike is MINT! It just got it first service at the dealer before i bought it. Previous owner had to buy a new BMW because his buddy did.... Bike still has 7 months on factory warranty. The seat is very very comfy, i had one on my klx but its just too narrow for my wide ****, lol. The Klr seat comfort seat is ride-able all day. Green is my favorite color and i really like the total blackout on the newer Klr's. Farkles are in the UPS truck on the way to me. Going with an eagle mikes fork brace and making my own fork light bracket with fork lights, center stand, gorilla MC paging alarm and trunk for the rack. I don't plan on doing any motor mods because its just not needed for me, the 650 has plenty of power to spare. I also love the look of the stock skid plate, plan to leave it since i don't do hard core off road, just logging/gravel roads. If i beat it up, I'll buy a new stock one since i love the look so much.

I had the same one for 16 years and about 60,000 miles. Took me to the bottom of the Copper Canyon, half way down Baja, all over BC, up to Canada on the CDR & back home on the asphalt and spent a few days on the Paiute Trail in Utah with it. With common sense PM you should get many miles of smiles. Only breakdown it had was when it got all gummed up with NM gumbo during the monsoons and the clutch got fried. I just got too old to be picking it up more than once a day. Enjoy!
