Hot weather commuters: Phoenix 4.0 or ?
It getting darn hot down here in NM (and muggy too given that it is the monsoon season). I've been commuting in my work clothes and Thor Impact Rig. The mesh on the Rig allows alot of airflow, but being that it is all black it heats up fast. The local bike shops both carry the Joe Rocket Phoenix 4.0 and highly recomend it as the zip in liner makes it a 3 season jacket down here.
Anyone have this jacket? How do you like it? Is there a better option out there?

I have the Phoenix 4.0, and it is pretty nice. The air goes through it pretty well, but sometimes I unzip it a little in the front on the really hot days. As you can see in my sig, I live in Japan, and it gets pretty hot and humid here. I would recommend it.

I have one. I think it's pretty good as long as you keep moving. Don't know how hot it gets in NM but here in Phoenix it can easily get above 112. When its that hot anything is going to be pretty miserable. I really like that Teknic jacket better though. If I had seen that first I probably would have gotten it.

Didn't a properly worn Femen desert stillsuit recycle all bodily fluids and would thus rehydrate the wearer using the built-in straw --- so basically urine in your camel bak? No thanks.

NM can get pretty hot, but rarely do we go over 105 like Phoenix. The Tecnik looks interesting, I am assuming that is the "Supervent" model. Does it have an internal zip in liner, or is it basically a one season jacket? Any ideas on where to find one, I googled it and just found 2 stores that were selling oddball sizes/colors.
Thanks for the input on the JR, I'm leaning towards that one because I know I can try it on locally and find the right size.

Got mine at Bikebandit.com. $130 plus ship (free in the USA I think.)
It doesn't come with any zip-in liner or the like.
Used it down to about 60oF, it was fine. It's the supervent model and works fine well over 100oF. I put a FOX Racing rain jacket over the top for the showers.
This is the best price I found. $140 ish.
