Default Hello old friends

What's up lady's and gents! Parted ways with 09 Kawi in late Christmas Eve 2011. I sure miss that bike! Got a good 18,000 miles out of her but she was wore out. Sold it for $1500.. I rode it hard lol anyways picked a 14' DRZ 400sm about 2 months ago to get back in the dual sport scene. And man I love it. Only weighs like 15 pounds more than the old klx with almost twice as much power. Already have 2000 miles on it. Been pretty active in the drz thread on thumper talk. A lot of good info there just like there was here for me. Anyways just stopping by to say hi..

Good to hear you're doing well.

I've been thinking about a DZR supermoto myself. is the lack of a sixth gear much of a hindrance compared to the kawi with the 17" wheels ?

If you did the 351 you would not be saying "twice as much power" lol! Glad you got back into the rough side of riding!

Thanks man. It's not to bad, when I had the stock street slicks on it i went up 1 on the front sprocket and down 2 on the back for 16/39 gearing and it would cruise 70-75 all day long, didn't feel like the motor was workin hard at all. Obviously I went to 50/50 tires on the 17's so I could off road and there quite a bit taller and heavier so I went back to stock gearing 15/41, I also didn't want to have to slip the clutch that much off road. It works perfect for it. Cruise at 70 without revving real high but has plenty of power off-road. It would be great to have a sixth gear though! But I wouldn't let it keep me from getting one..

True!! Haha but I didn't really have a grand to put into it.. Plus another 500 or so to fix other crap that needed fixed. I actually considered getting another klx. There great bikes! Wouldn't mind gettin one down the road
