Front rotor for 09+?
Hey klxers,
I'm looking to replace my front disc rotor but don't see many options on the interwebs. I was wondering if there were other models/years that would fit the 2009? would a 2007 rotor work on the 2009 hub? It seems 2007 rotors are much cheaper.....

The same 250 size rotor with the 4 hole pattern and no dish was used on numerous Kawasaki off roaders including all KLX250s, 300s, 650Rs, and a bunch of the motocrossers. I have KLX300 rotors on my 09, I know because I bought the matching rear rotor that came off a 300, the PO had some 220mm KX rotor instead of the proper 240mm on it.
There is one for under $30 on ebay right now and I wouldn't waste time, I'd buy it. Rotor The seller is a shop that clearly sells and if there would be a problem they would take care of it, based on their ebay listing.

To use the work "cheap" and brakes in the same sentence kind of scares me!
Stock OEM stuff is around $200 range
EBC I have seen on ebay for 2009 and newer starting around $110 and up on ebay and at Partszilla
Please do not try and be cheap when it comes to something that can save your life such as brakes, tires and chains. Just my three cents.

Everything OEM is more expensive, but not always best quality, just look at the stock handlebars.
Btw OEM brake pads are expensive, and last the longest, but dont have quite as good stopping power as adternarket companies

The "cheap" parts we were talking about were used OEM rotors. Quite expensive when new, but "cheap" when buying used and knowing the ones that fit and work.
Sellers can pick up a rough or wrecked bike and part them out to make more money than fixing and selling. A shop that does it as a business will guarantee the flatness and function of the part when it comes to something like a brake rotor.
Fact is in the zoom of the image on the low buck one showed minimal wear, looked like no ridge at the edge of the swept area. That hints at a very good part plus being sold by a business that commented about customer satisfaction as #1.
