Sweet, should be a relatively easy install. Are you planning on keeping the stock headlight?

The '06/'07 models won't need bar risers for the Vapor. Here's one on an '06.

My only issue that really bothers me is the front brake line. When I'm sitting on the bike, my forks sag right in my line of sight with the screen of the vapor.

i think for now i will, i have an hid kit installed in it and its nice and bright and gives a good view, im leaving for boot camp in a few months so im trying not to go overboard with the spending(easier said than done) the only reason i want the vapor kit is even though my gauges are busted they still work minus the backlights on them so i night time i have no clue of my speed. i think if i were to get a new light id try to make the headlight off the newer models work i like the look of them a lot

You may have seen already, but here's mine. Some more clean-up could be done to make it very inconspikuous...

No I didn't see that before, looks good though.

I would almost be tempted to try something like that if I had the dimensions

What material did you use?

It's aluminum L bracket. Measure between the two fork mounting holes and go from there. Start with a piece of cardboard and mock one up.

That's hideous, Scott. Why didn't you just go down to NAPA and buy some big, nasty, rusty, muffler clamps?

Honestly, nice work there. But I wouldn't have expected anything less.

Muffler clamps...why didn't I think of that? Thanks for the compliment.

It's had a few iterations to get to where its at now. It started big and wide just to get something on there, then I whittled it down over a few shop sessions. I had to re-drill holes for the plastic X2 holding bracket to move it back because the headlight was pointing too far up in the air, especially when loaded down for a DS camping trip.

The headlight will mount right up to the fender on the 06/07, but I think 09+ is tougher. I wanted it higher up on the forks to shine over the top of the fender bag as much as possible. The bag still gets in the way a bit.
