Default FCR 35 and Clarke tank

Is anyone running the clarke tank with an FCR 35 carb installed? I am wondering if there are any clearance issues with the clarke tank as the FCR carb sits differently in the bike than the stock carb. Don't want to buy the tank, only to find out that it won't work for me. Thanks.

I have both carbs. The FCR 35 and Bill Blue's TM 33 bored to 34mm, plus the Clarke fuel tank. The FCR fits fine with the Clarke tank with one small modification. I used a rubber washer to hold the rear of the tank up about 1/4 inch. It was no big deal at all.

I know. You're going toask which carbI like best now.Thejury's still out. I'm sorting out some slight mid range bobbling with the Mikuni, but I like the choke andit's better off idle and tip in throttle. The FCR hits hard in the middle, or seems too, but the dynosuggests that they're both almost identical across the scale. It shows the bobble at tip in on the FCR, which I'm sure I can sort out with a little patience. I just bored the needle jet according to Bill Blue's suggestion, to make it aQO instead of a P8.( #36 drill, .106) Ishould have itback together in a few days to see how it runs with that upgrade.

Hope all that helps.

Thanks Bill. Does the TM33 fit with no problems or do you have to do the same remedy for both?

And totally going off topic, it sounds like the carbs are both very similar, and a guy wouldnt go wrong with either?

Shadetree thanks for the info on the FCR 35/clarke tank fit. I'll go ahead and order up a black(hopefully not leaking) one. Now totally of this threads subject, I'm going to PM you with some FCR questions.

The Bill Blue TM33(34) fits fine with the Clarke tank. The TM36-8012 does not readily fit with the Clarke tank. However, it is easily modified to fit. (need to trim the bell crank and bracket).
