CraigT, we can certainly clear this issue up.. While we wait for the 06,07 owners to verify 2152 viability, you should do a search on "2152" and see for your self..

Here is a recent thread where I worked with an '06 owner with his 2152 setup - https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum...optimal-43692/

You should rest assured that the 2152 kit is just fine for your bike - did the DJ weenie happen to notice that the 2206 kit is NOT listed for use with the KLX250S ? It's for the KLX300R !

If you're in a hurry to get a kit, take solice in that IDRIDR and I are in agreement on this issue - and that's as good as gold - Cause... we can trust him..LOL

06/07 use a TPS but they dropped it in 09. I'm running a 09 on my 07 with no issues. Both the carbs look identical other than the TPS.

When swapping out carbs the TPS pretty much gets abandoned if I understand correctly. What does TPS do on our bikes?

I think I'm just going with the 2206 kit since it may be better for the bigger bore even if a bit of conjecture.

On a side note I went for a ride with the new FMF Powercore and I was throwing up a lot of rooster tails to the surprise of my riding buddies. They said it's almost like a real dirt bike now It definitely felt stronger so I can't wait for the new snorkel and jets.

The TPS does nothing that you will ever notice. It was probably EPA related.

I'm in the middle of doing my 351 BB now. If your going big bore you will probably be going to the TM36 or TM34 pumper carb. Spending the money on a BB then handy capping it with the stock carb is not realizing the full potential of the extra cc's.

Yeah I'm guessing I'll get the pumper carb too but maybe not. Partially everything I'm doing on the bike is a learning process for me so I'm trying to balance the process of making mods and seeing the difference with not wasting money! But I've also heard that the CV carb is more forgiving with altitude changes so I thought maybe I could jet it for Phoenix (or slightly higher) but still take it up to Colorado without worrying about rejetting.

Regarding the TPS, I don't recall anyone ever saying it had any real function on the '06/'07.

So, I've got the Dynojet 2206 kit. I've looked at the Dynojet instructions and a few of the spreadsheets and nothing really matches my setup.

Stock 250 bore
FMF Powercore 4
KDX200 snorkel

This weekend I'm riding from Phoenix (1300') to Prescott (5300'). Groove #3 or #4 from top on needle clip? DJ128 main jet? Also, the two little washers go on top of the clip? Don't really get what they do.

Thanks!

Well, I have no data or experience with snorkels, but, if you pull the lid off the airbox, you should run the 132 main and needle at 3N (3rd notch down from the top, as per the instructions) ..

The two washers must be used - both above the clip is the normal useage.. They are required in order for the white nylon "hat" to stabilize the needle properly..
